Peace Beth,
I lovethis Haiku. It makes me think about Dionne Brand’s book-legnth poem “Inventory” about a figure who watches the news all night and counts…the deaths, the injustices, the accumulative violence. What kind of math is this we’re learning in this moment. Does it even serve us to turn people into numbers? Where is the place where people already “count” as in matter as in remain obviously priceless, completely unquantifiable?
love,
lex
